A cleaner cup of tea

Combining a kettle with a water filter may seem like a good idea, but the filter mesh quickly clogs and acts as a breeding ground for bacteria. The way around this, says Strix of the Isle of Man (GB 2392370), is to use the kettle’s steam to clean the filter. But to achieve the constant flow of steam necessary, you need two separate heating elements.
