GLITZY TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation made forensic science sexy. Now the unsung science of epidemiology is getting the glamour treatment with the launch of a new drama called Medical Investigation.

The stars of the show, a pair of sharply-dressed scientists, “are summoned in a heartbeat to scope out – and hopefully snuff out – outbreaks of unexplained and fearful diseases”, according to NBC, the network that aired the first episode in the US last Friday.
