Claudia Feh spent her childhood in Zurich, Switzerland, before moving to the Camargue to work at a field centre. She gave up her degree to study horses, but years later her thesis was approved by the University of Marseille. She is nowa world expert in equine behavioural ecology and ethology. In 1991, Feh set up Takh, The Association for the Przewalski Horse, to reintroduce Przewalskis to theirnative habitat (). In September, her first group were released in Mongolia. Feh received a $100,000 Rolex award to build a local centre for the project
