DURING the Nazi years some German doctors ignored their Hippocratic oath not to do harm. Instead, in the name of eugenics as interpreted by the Nazi party, they forcibly sterilised their patients and killed sick and disabled people deemed “unworthy of life”. In the concentration camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau in occupied Poland, doctors killed prisoners to further their medical research, after using them to test vaccines, and later dissected their brains.

Fortunately for justice, the Nazis shot film of their war crimes.
