Digital camera has a retro makeover

Film camera sales are plummeting, but the classic shape of the 1929 Rolleiflex camera looks set to live on in the form of a miniature digital lookalike shown at the Consumer Electronics Show.

The $429 Rolleiflex MiniDigi is a replica of the 6-centimetre square-format Rolleiflex 2.8F, but it is much smaller and lighter (see it at ). Like the original, it has a viewfinder on top, but instead of a glass screen an LCD displays the image, and a hand crank readies the gadget for the next exposure.
