European court bans 'megadose' supplements

A LOT of objectors are not going to be happy. But on Tuesday the European Court of Justice upheld a law blocking the sale of products containing “megadoses” of vitamins and minerals across the European Union.

Dieticians and mainstream consumer groups have welcomed the decision. “Contrary to the many misleading reports, the directive is not anti-consumer choice,” says UK consumer organisation Which?. “It will ensure that products are safe.”
