AN LCD display that lets you watch your favourite soap opera on TV while someone else surfs the internet using the same screen has been developed by consumer electronics firm Sharp.
The screen can simultaneously display two images, with the image that is seen depending on the viewing angle of the people watching. It consists of a conventional LCD screen overlaid with a series of alternating opaque and transparent strips, called a parallax barrier. This sends light from the TV input in one direction, and from the internet in another, so people in different places see different images.
