Isn’t it annoying when you hear about an amazing TV programme after it’s been broadcast? You can set ordinary video recorders to record shows in advance, but if you miss one in your TV guide, or forget, it’s too late. Now the BBC’s research and development laboratory has developed a prototype personal video recorder called Promise TV that simply records every programme on every channel. The experimental device has several hard drives and can hold 3.2 terabytes of video.
