The Kylie effect

Media coverage of Kylie Minogue’s breast cancer diagnosis caused mammogram screenings among Australian women to rocket, according to the Medical Journal of Australia. Government-sponsored free screenings increased 40 per cent during the two weeks of publicity about Minogue’s diagnosis. The number of bookings from unscreened women doubled.

Stormy weather
