A device that allows people to draw 3D images in mid-air has been unveiled in Japan. The prototype, developed by Pioneer, comprises a “virtual screen” equipped with sensors that track the movement of your finger. Software processes the data and adds light, shade and contrast. The resulting image appears on an LCD screen before passing through an array of 30 micro-lenses to create an image that seems to float in mid-air.
