Athletics authorities get set to detect 'gene doping'

ATHLETES intending to “dope” their bodies with performance-enhancing genes should beware. The drug-testing authorities say they are one step ahead.

There is no evidence that any athletes have so far attempted “gene doping”, but the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in Montreal, Canada, is taking the threat seriously. WADA is spending millions of dollars on finding ways to detect gene dopers.
