Criminals in Los Angeles could soon find themselves being trailed by a drone aircraft the size of a child’s toy. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has begun testing a prototype unmanned aerial vehicle called SkySeer. The drone, developed by Florida-based Octatron, weighs about 2.3 kilograms and can fly at up to 48 kilometres per hour for 70 minutes. A small video camera fixed to the underside of the drone sends pictures directly to a command station.
