When you want a heavy object moved, call in the Swarm-bots. These robots, developed by Marco Dorigo’s team at the Free University of Brussels (ULB) in Belgium come equipped with a camera on a rotating turret and a gripper. Their simple programming makes the blue-LED covered robots grab onto objects lit up in red, and change colour to match. Once each robot sees only other red bots indicating they have all teamed up, they begin hauling the load.
