A MAJOR wave of influenza is approaching from the Far East. What happens next is anybody’s guess, but many of the experts seem to be keeping their lips sealed and their fingers crossed.

This influenza epidemic started in Hong Kong in mid-April. It has reached India, and an increasing number of cases are being reported from Bombay and Madras. Manila has over 150,000 cases according to The Times. Fair-sized outbreaks have been reported by North Borneo, Sarawak, Formosa [Taiwan], Cambodia, Malaya…
