IT WAS truly a case of life imitating art. Last month, amid a burst of publicity, Columbia Pictures released in the United States its film The China Syndrome. The fictional tale deals with the near melt-down of a nuclear reactor. Nobody actually died in the film, but the script was scary enough for utilities and nuclear industry interests around the US to mount hefty protests against the film.
