Editorial: Still no substitute for embryonic stem cells

“THE embryonic stem cell debate is over,” in The Washington Post last November. His comments followed the invention of genetic reprogramming, in which the addition of four genes turns human skin cells into pluripotent stem cells. The apparent ability of these cells to develop into any of the body’s tissues, Krauthammer argued, “will now incline even the most willful researchers to leave the human embryo alone”.
