Stem cells for stroke

An elderly man has become the first person in the world to receive an injection of stem cells after a stroke, in an attempt to rebuild lost brain connections and tissue. Up to 12 people will be given progressively higher doses over the next year in trial run by a team from the University of Glasgow and stem cell firm ReNeuron, both in the UK.
