I DON’T feel comfortable lying inches away from this polar bear, watching as its eyelids flicker and ice crystals dance on its breath. A helicopter pilot and mechanic stand behind me, flare pistol and rifle at the ready.

When the bear opens an eye, I leap backwards and my heart races. But and of the assure me that I’m quite safe.
