Say cheese! Amazon has applied for a patent on . To stop someone stealing your identity simply by holding up your photo, the system will ask you to perform different actions such as smiling, blinking or tilting your head.

Blink that beat

You can now play a tune with your eyes, thanks to software that turns eye movement into musical notes. Andreas Refsgaard at the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design in Denmark was inspired to create Eye Conductor after caring for a child with muscular dystrophy. It can take some getting used to, however. “It is significantly harder to tap a rhythm with your eyes than with your fingers,” he says.
