Alex Hughes is a science and tech journalist who has written about everything from black holes to the psychology of lying. He worked as a staff writer for TechRadar and BBC Science Focus, where he was part of the Instant Genius team that won for best consumer podcast at the British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) Talent Awards in 2025. He has also worked as AI editor at Tom's Guide and was highly commended in the best specialist writer category at the BSME Talent Awards in 2023.
