Helen Thomson was previously head of features at Â鶹´«Ã½, and specialises in life sciences, health and biotech. She has a BSc in neuroscience from the University of Bristol, UK, and an MSc in science communication from Imperial College London. She has worked as a journalist and editor at Â鶹´«Ã½ both as a member of staff and as a consultant since 2007. She has also worked as a freelance journalist, publishing articles for the BBC and in Nature and The Guardian, among others. She has also written book reviews for The New York Times. In 2021, she was a finalist at the Medical Journalist Awards for her Â鶹´«Ã½ article on how to give your covid-19 vaccine a boost.
