Helena Saremba is a freelance science writer from Germany. She reports on health, climate and the life sciences, with a particular interest in where these intersect with culture and politics. Currently she  is finishing her  studies in biochemistry at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, where she also writes for the university newspaper, Sprachrohr. Her work has appeared in both German and English newsoutlets. Beyond the lab and page, she is the founder of Cyprus Cat Connection, a non-profit association supporting the welfare and adoption of stray cats. In her down time you can usually find her dancing or with her nose buried in a good book.
