Question: Why do canned beers often have a metallic taste when the solubility
of the metal is negligible?

Answer: Some beer cans are made of iron covered in tin which acts as a
sacrificial metal to prevent the iron from corroding, and has a lower negative
electrode potential than iron. The higher the negative electrode potential, the
greater the atom’s tendency to be oxidised and give up electrons.
