Hot bite

Question: As I climbed out of bed on a recent dark morning, I noticed
something glowing on the floor. It was a beef bone that my dog had been given
the night before and had left lying there.The whole bone was covered in glowing
patches. When the light was turned on, none of the glowing patches was visible.
Another similar bone that had been kept in the refrigerator was also glowing.
What causes this?

By the way, my dog doesn’t glow in the dark.
