Moonlit colour 1

Question: Recently, on a very crisp, bright autumn night in the Appalachian
Mountains in Pennsylvania I noticed that the full Moon was producing an inverse
rainbow in the 12 o’clock position directly above the Moon. There were also very
bright spots of light in the 3 and 9 o’clock positions on either side of the
Moon that also showed patches of rainbow. It wasn’t actually raining at the
time, but there was a high, thin layer of misty cloud. Both my friends and I
have no idea how this effect was created because we were not standing…
