From RONALD PINE

The photo of the vampire bats in ‘How vampire bats acquired a taste
for blood’ (Â鶹´«Ã½, Science, 9 January) was printed upside down .
. . that is to say, the bats are shown as roosting rightside up. In other
words . . . oh, never mind.
