Letter: One in the eye

Following the letter from Low Hu Liang about amusingly named genes and gene products
(Feedback, 29 April),
I remembered a gene I read about several years ago. It is a Drosophila gene,
and replaces eyes with genital structures. Its name is “cockeyed”.
