Living in New Zealand, astronomer Richard Hall can see the Clouds of Magellan. These two 鈥済lowing clouds of light鈥� are the closest galaxies to Earth. His well-written guide, How to Gaze at the Southern Stars (Awa Press, NZ$24.99), will beguile experienced star-spotters and absolute beginners alike.
