The drivers seen here are fighting the elements as they try to make their way down highway 101 near Corte Madera in Marin county, California. The road was flooded by a king tide, a name given to the high tides that happen when an alignment between Earth, the sun and the moon creates a stronger gravitational pull. Coastal areas of California have been hit hard by heavy rain and flooding.
